Celina Jure’s paintings represent quite the contrary of abstraction; in fact they do not represent, they do not abstract: the color sequences transport pure emotion—but nothing else. The process of painting remains transparent to the beholder, thus giving the strict form a human dimension. The colors are, no more no less. They are not the manifestation of something else, they are not a sign, they do not mean something, they do not ‘hide’ anything nor do they express something (that lies beneath etc.). The colors are the thing in itself, they are unique; what they are cannot be expressed or manifested in any other way. They are a form of life. They exist by themselves. They are active, not passive.
